Seven 'Yahoo Boys' Lose Thousands Of Dollars Proceeds Of Crime, Get Various Jail Terms

Seven internet fraudsters, otherwise known as "Yahoo Boys" were on Tuesday, convicted and sentenced to various jail terms by Justice Uche Agomoh of the Federal High Court, Ibadan, Ogun State.

Their conviction was secured by the Ibadan zonal command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The convicts are: Aiyelokun Bolaji Emmanuel (a.k.a Calvin James), Joseph  Olaoluwa Bamigboye(a.k.a Casey Dean), Ayojide Ayomide Ezekiel(a.k.a Jilas Jarvis Jackson), Olamide Odunayo Ibrahim(a.k.a Oddie Stones), Olaoluwa Mutiu Ademola, Osiyemi Oluwadamilare Olamide and Idowu Olawale Monsuru.

The defendants pleaded guilty to separate one count of impersonation, an offence which contravenes Section 22(2) (b) (i) and punishable under Section 22(2)(b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc) Act, 2015  following a plea bargain with the EFCC.

Justice Agomoh convicted and sentenced them to various jail terms and also ordered that they restitute their victims.

Aiyelokun was sentenced to eleven months imprisonment; Bamigboye and Oladimeji bagged nine months imprisonment each; Osiyemi and Ademola were jailed seven months each, while Ayojide and Idowu were sentenced to six months imprisonment each.

The court ordered Aiyelokun and Bamigboye to restitute $220USD and $350USD respectively to their victims.

Oladimeji was ordered to restitute $2500USD; Osiyemi $800 and N108, 000; Ademola N1, 300,000, Ayojide $2,650USD and Idowu N826,000, to their victims.

The convicts are to forfeit all items recovered from them to the Federal Government.
