Magu made the call on Friday, through Lawrence Iwodi, Zonal Head of Maiduguri Office of the EFCC, while receiving the leadership and management staff of BOGIS, who paid him a courtesy visit to the Maiduguri Zonal Office.

“We are working together for one purpose, to ensure that this thing called corruption in our society is not allowed to survive. If you identify people from outside who specialized in selling fake title documents, you should give us information. Buyers will bring it innocently to you for verification, the agency should endeavor to report such an individual for proper investigation and prosecution,” he said.

According to him, “there are many ways BOGIS can assist the EFCC to continue in achieving its mandate; by reporting issues of fraud in respect to land matters in Borno State such as conspiracy, forgery and insider activity by officials of the agency.

He further said, “The EFCC’s involvement on land matters is only to the extent that the matter is criminal in nature. “When we see an element of crime in matters dealing with land and especially when it relates to the mandate of the Commission, we show enough interest”.

The Executive Secretary of BOGIS, Engr. Adam B. Bababe, while appreciating the EFCC equally said the purpose of the visit is to inform the Commission that BOGIS has successfully taken over the affairs of the defunct Ministry of Land and Survey, Borno State.

He said, “The defunct Ministry of Lands operates manually and with the recent development on Computer Aid and Information Technology, we have incorporated all our activities to a computer based system.

“I want to assure you that, based on the information technology that is being incorporated by our agency, all EFCC request will be given utmost priority”.
