The Voice Of The People, The Voice Of God, Godday Samuel Reacts To Appellate Court Victory

By Richard Anyebe
The Member representing Apa/Agatu at the National Assembly, Godday Samuel has described his victory at the National Assembly Elections Appeal Court in Makurdi, the Benue State capital as the doing of God.

Samuel, who was reacting to the appellate court judgment today that upheld his victory in the 9th March elections, said all power belongs to God and he alone can give it to whoever he likes.
Samuel said “The voice of the people is the voice of God. All power belongs to the Most High God, and God gives it to whosoever He likes.”
The lawmaker thanked the people of his constituency for their unflinching support towards him during and after the elections and re-stated his commitment in ensuring effective representation in the green chambers that will in turn bring development to them.
The court in its judgement struck out the appeal of Samuel’s main challenger and immediate past representative of the constituency, Ademu Entonu on the grounds of lack of substantial evidence to prove his allegation of electoral malpractices.
Also, the court ordered Entonu to pay the sum of one hundred thousand naira (100,000) as damages to Samuel.
Samuel is of the Labour Party, LP while Entonu is of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Recall that on 3 August the national/state assembly election petition tribunal sitting in Makurdi, had upheld the election of Samuel as the reps member for the zone.
