The Governor of Imo State, Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to appointees of the immediate Governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha to hand over government properties in their possession.
This is coming on the heels of the governor’s criticism of his predecessor to handover documents containing the financial stance of the state
Ihedioha gave the directive in a post on his Twitter page
“I have ordered the Principal Secretary to Former Governor Rochas Okorocha and the Head of Imo State Civil Service to prepare a proper hand-over document of all Government Properties before 12am midnight tomorrow 4th June, 2019,” the governor posted on his official Twitter page @EmekaIhediaha on Monday afternoon.
Ihedioha’s order is coming three days after he stopped banks from hououring cheques and transfer instructions in the name of the government.
The governor’s order was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Owerri, the state capital, last week by his Special Adviser on Media, Steve Osuji.
The governor also directed that all outstanding financial instructions already addressed to the banks in the name of the state government should be suspended.
