A court in Dallas, Texas has found a 47-year-old woman identified as Mary Harrison guilty for the murder of her 49-year-old husband Dexter Harrison for constantly beating their family cat.
Mary was accused of shooting her husband dead because he had a habit of constantly beating their family pet.
The presiding judge ordered the jailing of Mary and set the sum of $100,000 as bail condition for the release of the suspect.
Reports say Mary told police detectives who visited the scene of the incident that she shot her husband who later lost his life in hospital, during a heated argument over his constant beating of the cat.
According to neighbours of the couple, the family cat recently went missing and Mrs. Harrison posted notices about its disappearance, and the pet eventually returned home.
